In 2019, the members of the Thrace Technology Association built a fully functional arcade cabinet, using the Raspberry Pi 3+ as the central processing unit and the RetroPie platform for arcade game emulation.
The construction includes a custom-designed wooden enclosure, an HDMI display, connection to an arcade-style joystick and
buttons via a USB encoder, as well as a customized operating environment for easy selection and execution of games from various classic consoles and arcade systems.
The cabinet contains 2,500 arcade-era games. The project combines knowledge of hardware, software, and electronics, highlighting the practical application of open-source technology and offering a nostalgic yet technically modern entertainment experience.
